This is me, a 30-something year old living in Idaho.
A wife, mother and artist.
New to blogging and home steading-ish.
I say ish because we only have chickens and my garden is still a daydream… also, my husband said no to a cow.

I guess I will share a little more about myself.
My name is Brenda Schaefer: those closest to me call me B, Bren or Kitten (my dear husband)… and once upon a time I was Bren-Dawg or Shorty.
I am the blogger here.
I have no idea what I am doing blogging but I thought it would be a great way to document what is happening in my life. I will try to stay up to date for anyone that decides to follow along.
So, I guess I can start at the beginning. I was born and raised in Washington state. We moved around a lot until I was in middle school where we settled in south SW Washington. I was always in to art. From a young age I started drawing and have many sketchpads from back in the day. In high school I was the artist and photographer in many clubs. I stayed in WA until we moved to Idaho in 2014. After 5 years we have settled out in the little town of Melba. I have been married to my hilarious husband for 13 years. We have quite the love story because it started when we were very young. We got married when I was 20 and started our family 5 years later. He has been a constant support to me and has always been up for going along with my crazy dreams. He has inspired me to be myself and to have an open mind on life. I am grateful for him in more ways than I can count.
We currently live in a little fixer upper (one of my crazy dreams) with our two kids, two dogs, soon to be three cats and 14 chickens give or take one or two.
We have recently completely changed our lifestyle to simplify the way we live by downsizing and decluttering the things we own. We are renovating a small 101 year old house, which is one of the reasons why I started this blog.
I am passionate about anything involving being creative. It fills my soul.
I love making things and have been lucky enough to be self employed as a photographer since 2008. I love being with my family, relaxing at home, living slow and simple, having a lot of animals, reading, listening to music and podcasts, thrift shopping and cooking. I still really enjoy going to “the city” and traveling but life hasn’t permitted much of that lately.
We have big dreams and big goals. We hope to become completely debt free, which is a huge reason we moved out to our little fixer upper.
Feel free to follow along. My posts will be full of photographs. I hope to write what is going on in our lives for myself and maybe to inspire someone out there as well.
